Shooting in Glendale leaves a man dead, police say

Officers are asking the public to come forward with any information about the shooting.

(Salt Lake City Police Department) Salt Lake City Police are investigating a homicide in the Glendale neighborhood.

Police are investigating after a deadly shooting that happened early Sunday in Salt Lake City’s Glendale neighborhood, a news release said.

Emergency dispatchers received several calls about a shooting at 4:03 a.m. Sunday near 1800 W. Fortune Road, close to Redwood Road, the release from Salt Lake City police said.


When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man who had been shot, the release said. He died at the scene.

The man’s name hasn’t been released, pending notification of family members.

Police haven’t made any arrests, the release said, but law enforcement doesn’t believe there is an imminent danger to the community.

This is the fifth homicide in Salt Lake City this year, the release said.
