Police seek public’s help in mystery of car found half-submerged in Jordan River

The car wasn’t reported stolen and was found empty.

(Salt Lake City Police Department) Officers found a blue sedan half-submerged in the Jordan River and are asking the public to help figure out how it got there.

Salt Lake City police are asking for the public’s help in solving the mystery of a car found Sunday morning half-submerged in the Jordan River, according to a social media post.

Officers found the blue sedan with its nose in the water near 300 South and Glendale Street (1135 West) on the west side of Salt Lake City. Police worked with the Salt Lake City Fire Department to pull the vehicle from the river, the post said.

The car was empty when officers found it, and it wasn’t reported stolen.

The Salt Lake City Police Department asks anyone with specific information about how the crash happened to call 801-799-3000.
