Provo fire kills one person and injures another

There are reports of an explosion in a shed behind a home.

A deadly fire in a shed behind a home in Provo early Friday is under investigation.

According to Provo Fire & Rescue, the firefighters were called to a home near 1600 West and 1050 North at about 6:30 a.m. Neighbors reported an explosion, and when crews arrived they found a detached shed behind the house on fire.

One person was dead and a second was injured, according to authorities. The victims’ identities have not been released, and there was no information about the condition of the injured person.

The home was not damaged.
