Woman killed in Centerville condo fire

Residents of nearby units were displaced by damage.

The cause of a fire that killed a Centerville woman on Wednesday night remains under investigation, according to authorities.

The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. in one unit at Cedar Springs Condominiums near 88 W. 50 South. When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting from the home.

The flames were extinguished within 15 minutes, and when firefighters entered the condo they found the woman’s body. Her name has not been released.

Five or six other units were damaged, displacing several residents, according to South Davis Metro Fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
