Two permanent supportive housing facilities in Salt Lake City got a face-lift Wednesday, thanks to efforts from hundreds of volunteers.
Together, the complexes serve more than 200 people, including 150-plus veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
More than 600 volunteers, led by Home Depot employees, converged to paint the buildings, install garden beds, plant trees, assemble furniture, erect new fencing and shade structures, and create dog parks and grilling areas at the properties.
The foundation and housing authority have united for more than 10 years to improve community spaces in housing facilities across Utah’s capital.
