A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in Midvale late Thursday, Unified police confirmed Friday.
The shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. near 648 West and Wasatch Street (8000 South), according to police. Witnesses reported two vehicles driving away after shooting.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear. The boy, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made, and the Unified Police Department did not say if investigators have identified any suspects. The killing remains under investigation.
