Utah boy dies after ‘altercation’ at Lindon park, police say

Police say they have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the death.

A 16-year-old boy has died after an “altercation” between two groups of people resulted in fatal injuries to the child, Lindon Police said in a news conference Tuesday.

The two groups of people met between 2-2:30 a.m. at Lindon View Park’s Murdock Trailhead on Monday, an official said. During that meeting, the 16-year-old boy suffered “traumatic injuries that resulted in his death” during an altercation.

Further details on what caused his fatal injuries were not immediately released. A Lindon Police spokesperson said no physical weapons were used, and there is no danger to the public.

The spokesperson did not specify how many people were in the two groups involved in the altercation.

On Tuesday, officers arrested another 16-year-old boy in connection with the case.
