Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a “person of interest” after a man was stabbed to death at a West Valley City apartment on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the Aspenwood apartment complex at 4178 S. 4080 West at about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found Willie Houston, 59, had been stabbed. Houston was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.

According to police, witnesses reported that Houston had been in “some sort of dispute” with a man, who lives in a separate apartment at the same complex.

“Investigators would like to speak with [the man] regarding this incident but have been unable to locate him,” according to a Monday news release from West Valley City police.

The person of interest is about 5-foot-7, weighs about 150 pounds and has brown eyes and shorter, black hair. Anyone with information about him may call West Valley City police at 801-840-4000. Tips can be made anonymously.
