Man killed by debris from vehicle on I-15 near Roy

Authorities are still looking for the vehicle from which the debris originated.

A man was killed Friday afternoon after debris from another car struck his vehicle.

The accident occurred at about 3:10 p.m. Friday when the man was traveling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 339. Debris from another vehicle traveling southbound went over the median and through the windshield of the car traveling north and killed the driver, whose identity was not immediately available.

The debris that went through the car is believed to be a brake assembly, according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol. Officials don’t have a description of the vehicle the debris might have come from but urge anyone with information on the crash to call Weber County Dispatch’s nonemergency line at (801) 395-8221.
