A 55-year-old Moab man died Friday afternoon after falling in a wingsuit accident in Grand County.
The man was at a cliff overlooking Professor Valley in Moab when his satellite messaging device detected an impact and sent an SOS signal, according to a post from Grand County Search and Rescue. The man was found 1,000 feet below his designated jump point, and emergency responders ruled him deceased.
Due to the hazardous nature of the slope where the man was found, a hoist helicopter was required to recover the man.
