Provo police search for hit-and-run driver who struck boy on bicycle

The boy suffered minor injuries.

Provo police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck an 8-year-old boy Thursday afternoon.

The boy was riding his bike in the area of 200 North and 800 West at about 5:18 p.m. on Thursday when he was hit by a Nissan SUV, police said. The boy was knocked to the ground, suffering minor injuries.

According to police, the driver “immediately left the scene.”

Police are searching for a newer model, silver Nissan SUV with some front-end damage. They’re asking anyone who owns a home or business in the area to check surveillance footage for images of the Nissan.

Anyone with information that could help identify the SUV and its driver may call Provo police at 801-852-6210.
