It’ll be a bit warmer than usual in Utah this weekend

It’ll be pretty nice for trick-or-treaters and Utah, BYU and USU fans.

It’ll be slightly warmer than usual in Utah this weekend, which is good news for both trick-or-treaters and football fans.

According to the National Weather Service, the normal high temperature from Oct. 29-31 in Salt Lake City are 58 or 59 — the forecast calls for 61 Friday, 62 Saturday and 59 on Sunday.

In Provo, it’s normally 61-62 — it’ll be 65 on Friday, 66 on Saturday, and 64 on Sunday.

In Logan, it’s normally 53-54 — look for 61 on Friday and Saturday, and 57 on Sunday.

And in St. George, it’s normally 71-72 — the forecast is for 80 on Friday and Saturday, and 77 on Sunday.

The Halloween crowd doesn’t have much to worry about whether you go trick-or-treating on Saturday, on Sunday or both. In northern Utah, temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s both nights. There’s no rain in the forecast for Saturday evening, and a 30% chance on Sunday evening.

In southern Utah, temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s both nights, and there’s no rain in the forecast.

College football fans in Salt Lake City, Provo and Logan will remain dry, according to the National Weather Service. And temperatures will be good for the end of October.

Utah State vs. Hawaii (1 p.m. Saturday in Logan) • The forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-50s at kickoff, rising into the low 60s. Expect mostly sunny skies and winds of 6 mph.

Utah vs. UCLA (8 p.m. in Salt Lake City) • Temperatures will be in the low 50s throughout the game. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and there will be very little wind.

BYU vs. Virginia (8:15 p.m. Saturday in Provo) • It’ll be about 50 at kickoff, with temperatures falling into the mid-40s. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with winds of about 6 mph.

By the way, Southern Utah is at Montana State at noon on Saturday, and it’ll be sunny in Missoula, with temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s. Weber State plays Idaho State in Pocatello at 1 p.m., where it’ll be partly sunny with temperatures in the 50s.

And Dixie State will be on the East Coast, taking on Delaware at 11 a.m. MDT. It’ll be in the mid-60, mostly cloudy, with a 15% chance of rain in Newark.
