22-year-old man fatally shot in Murray early Wednesday

Investigators have not identified a suspect in the homicide investigation.

Murray police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man which occurred early Wednesday.

Officers were called to a home at 125 E. 4800 South at about 1:50 a.m., where they found Carlos Jhovany Huerta-Garcia shot just inside the front door, police said. He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

Details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately released.

Investigators have not identified a suspect, police said. But detectives believe the shooter and the man killed knew each other. Authorities continue to investigate and ask the public to call 801-840-4000 and reference case MR21-31097 if they have any information.
