The National Weather Service has warned areas throughout Utah of severe thunderstorms and the potential for flash flooding.
A thunderstorm that moved through Tooele toward Salt Lake and Davis Counties brought wind gusts of more than 70 miles per hour, the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City said. Residents of Midvale reported seeing hail.
Areas along the Wasatch Front from Layton to Draper were briefly under a severe thunderstorm warning.
The National Weather service issued a flash flood warning for Garfield and Kane counties until 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and another for Millard County until 9:15 p.m.
Ping-pong ball-sized hail and gusts of wind around 60 mph were also reported by the National Weather Service near Kanosh and Cove Fort on Interstate 15 between mile markers 133 and 156 and for Interstate 70 between mile markers one and seven.
