An 8-foot snake that went missing in Tooele is found, safe and sound, police say

Owner reported the boa constrictor missing on July 2, and was found in the owner’s house.

An 8-foot boa constrictor that went missing in early July in Tooele apparently didn’t go far, the Tooele City police say.

The boa, reported missing by its owner on July 2, was found alive Wednesday next to a deep freezer in the owner’s house, according to Det. Colbey Bentley, spokesperson for the Tooele City police.

“The owner stated the snake may have been there for a while,” Bentley said in an email sent to media outlets Thursday.

According to an Associated Press report at the time, the snake had been freed from its container and slithered off. After the owner’s initial call, Tooele City police said, animal control officers searched the house for 90 minutes without finding the boa.
