Police confirm death of 16-year-old in Taylorsville was a homicide

The death of a 16-year old-boy found in Taylorsville has been confirmed as a homicide, Unified Police said Thursday.

The boy was found dead in a cargo trailer in a backyard near the 1600 block of Elsie Drive on Wednesday, according to Sgt. Melody Cutler. She said there was a significant amount of blood. The victim’s name has not been released.

Police said Wednesday that they had located a 17-year-old person of interest. On Thursday, they said they had a juvenile suspect in custody.
