Pigs fall out of trailer, wreaking havoc on Utah highway

Two pigs die, but good Samaritans rescue the other six.

You’ve heard of pigs in a blanket, but how about pigs on the road?

Eight pigs fell onto I-15 on Friday afternoon near mile 336 when the safety latch opened on a horse trailer carrying them, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Two pigs died, traffic was slowed and a car was in a minor collision because of the pig fiasco. Good Samaritans “rushed to rescue” the other pigs before they could be hit by cars.

The person driving the truck pulling the trailer did not realize the pigs had fallen out until being flagged down by a motorist. The pigs’ freedom didn’t last long as they were soon returned to their owner. There were other pigs in the trailer that didn’t fall out despite the open latch.
