South Salt Lake police arrest woman after fatal shooting

Officers say her husband died after being shot multiple times.

South Salt Lake police say they have arrested a woman who told them she shot and killed her husband Friday night.

The woman called authorities to report the shooting late Friday, and officers went to the West Billinis Road address shortly before midnight, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. They found a 66-year-old man lying on the ground outside of the home, police reported. He’d been shot multiple times and was dead, according to the post.

Investigators found a handgun at the home and brought the woman and a male witness to the police station, police said.

The woman was later arrested and booked for murder and felony discharge of a weapon.
