Utah man arrested after he reportedly shot and killed another man

The suspect had reportedly been drinking “all day,” according to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office.

A Utah man was arrested Thursday after he reportedly shot another man to death.

An officer from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home in Myton — about 10 miles southwest of Roosevelt — shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday and discovered the victim had been shot and killed. According to a probable cause statement, the 46-year-old suspect had argued with the victim, and the “argument escalated” until the suspect shot the victim, whose name has not been released.

The officer wrote that the suspect reportedly “had been drinking all day” and “had the odor of alcohol coming from his body.”

The suspect was booked into the Duchesne County jail for investigation of homicide and of carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol.
