A winter weather advisory is in place for southern Utah, with snow and rain headed that way Monday evening and all day Tuesday.

The National Weather Service predicted 8 to 14 inches of snow in the southern Utah mountains above 9,000 feet, as well as 3 to 6 inches in the valleys, including Bryce Canyon and Panguitch.

The Utah Department of Transportation warned of wet roads, particularly on I-15 between the SR-20 junction through Cedar City to the Anderson junction.

UDOT also warned of road snow on high mountain routes, including SR-153, SR-143, SR-14 and SR-12 over Boulder Summit.
