South Salt Lake Police say they have arrested a man who shot someone in the face at the Maverik store located at 3260 S. West Temple on Dec. 4.

The man who was shot is alive and recovering, according to police.

The person who was arrested matched the person seen getting out of a car before the shooting in surveillance video of the scene and the victim picked him out of a lineup, according to the statement. He told the victim “I should just jack you” before swinging his fist toward the victim while holding a gun, according to the statement. The gun went off in the victim’s face, causing injuries to his mouth, teeth, tongue and jaw.

Police also took the driver of the car that the shooter was in into custody.
