Woman set on fire in Murray; police have suspect in custody

A woman was critically injured early Thursday morning when a man set her on fire at a Murray hotel, police said.
Murray Police issued a statement noting that officers responded to the Studio 6 hotel at 975 E. 6600 South about 2:55 a.m., where they located a 34-year-old woman who had been doused in accelerant and intentionally set on fire.
The woman was transported to the University of Utah Hospital’s Burn Center in critical condition, with burns on approximately 70% of her body.
Murray Police announced Thursday morning that they were seeking the public’s help to locate the suspect, 44-year-old Andrew Todd Curtis, who they believe fled the scene on foot.
Just after 2:20 p.m., though, Murray police announced that “Curtis has been taken into custody. Updates or further information will be provided as it becomes available.”
