The Summit County Sheriff’s Office have found a missing 6-year-old Tuesday and arrested her father.
Law enforcement said Chanzi Delgado was taken by her estranged father, Mark Anthony Delgado, who does not have legal custody. The two were found not long after the state issued an Amber Alert.
The sheriff’s office tweeted, “Chanzi has been located in Taylorsville and the father is in custody.”
Authorities worried that Delgado may have been driving the girl to Los Angeles.
A news release said that Delgado recently returned to Utah as part of an effort to reconcile with his family.
It said he took the child to “run errands” in a borrowed vehicle at 8 a.m. Tuesday, and didn’t returned. The child’s mother received a Facebook message from the father saying he was taking the child to Los Angeles out of retribution for making him suffer not seeing their child for the past four years.
