Suspect shot by Ogden police responding to intrusion call

Police are investigating after an Ogden officer shot a man Wednesday morning.

The Ogden officer was responding to an intrusion alarm call at the AAMCO near 31st Street and Wall Avenue when he noticed a male suspect inside. Once confronted, Ogden police, in a news release, said “shots were fired, and the suspect was struck.”

According to police, the suspect refused to comply with the officer’s order to surrender. The man attacked her with an “object” in his hands, and she fired her gun twice, striking him both times.

The responding officer placed the suspect into custody and provided medical treatment until paramedics arrived. The suspect was transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center, where he is in stable condition and is expected to live. The officer was not injured.
