With no break in sight from the hotter temperatures across Utah, the Wasatch Front will see another possible threat Thursday evening, extending through the weekend and into early next week.

Dry thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon across areas east of I-15, with isolated storms across western Utah, according to the National Weather Service.

Most areas east of I-15 are under a Red Flag Warning through late Thursday for dry thunderstorms and gusty winds. There’s a chance of lightning, but little to no rainfall is expected from these storms.

Afternoon and evening thunderstorms will remain possible across the area through the weekend and into early next week. The weekend will also see near record high temperatures across much of Utah each afternoon.
