Fire near Fruitland damages two structures, destroys one home

A fire at a Duchesne County church spread and damaged two structures Sunday and destroyed one home and two outbuildings. Several other structures are threatened.

The 6400 Fire — previously known as the Fruitland Church Fire — is estimated at 225 acres and it is 0% contained. All evacuations have been lifted.

The fire destroyed one primary residence and damaged two other residences, according to Utah Fire Info.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Just after 4 p.m., the fire’s progress was halted by firefighters, according to Utah Fire Info. U.S. 40 reopened after being closed in both directions between milepost 59 and the Highway 208 junction, per the Utah Department of Transportation.
