Two small earthquakes rattle southern Utah

Two small earthquakes hit southern Utah early Tuesday morning, rattling local residents.

The first quake struck at 2:44 a.m. It measured at magnitude 3.74, according to the University of Utah Seismograph Stations, and was centered about 6 miles north of Pine Valley in Washington County, which is about 27 miles north of St. George. A second quake, measured at 2.7, hit the same area at 6:29 a.m.

There have been no reports of damage.
