Tooele drinking water is now safe, officials say

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Tooele County on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020.

Tooele officials gave their drinking water system the all-clear Sunday morning.

On Saturday, residents in the city’s southeast neighborhoods were told not to drink the water because a broken water tank may have contaminated the water supply.

City officials noticed the break during a routine inspection, according to a statement.

According to a city notice, testing determined that water for residents living south of Vine Street and east of Main Street was again safe to drink. All other water systems continue to be safe.
