Utah boy in critical condition after he was shot in the head by a BB gun

A 6-year-old Utah boy was critically injured when he was accidentally shot in the back of the head with a BB.

The Eagle Mountain boy was flown by helicopter to a hospital on Monday after the “accidental shooting,” according to Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. The boy’s 12-year-old brother fired the “pump style” gun, and the BB “may have ricocheted, striking the younger boy in the back of the head.”

The brothers were in the backyard of their home in the North Ranch area of Eagle Mountain at about 7:45 p.m., according to Cannon.
