You have more time to nominate your company for Utah’s Top Workplaces

Top Workplaces 2020

You may be working from home, missing your colleagues and worried about the future.

But if your employer is helping you weather the storm and continue to be successful in this time of crisis — maybe it’s time to nominate your company for Utah’s Top Workplaces.

The award honors small, medium and large companies and is given by The Salt Lake Tribune and its partner, Energage.

The deadline to participate has been extended to June 1, according to Eric Rubino, CEO of the culture technology firm that specializes in employee engagement and workplace improvement research.

“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” Rubino said. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”

So far, more than 90 Utah companies have signed up to participate in the Top Workplaces survey.

Any organization with 35 or more employees — whether a private business, a publicly held company, a government agency or a nonprofit — can participate. Submit a nomination at http://www.sltrib.com/nominate or by phone, 801-803-6841.

Once the nomination is received, employees will be sent a 24-question survey.

This marks the seventh year for these awards. Winning companies typically offer more than just competitive salaries, quality medical insurance and retirement with an employer match — although those are all important. They invest in training, provide resources so workers can do their jobs in an efficient and satisfying manner, and go the extra mile to show employees they are valued.

Last year, Energage sent surveys to more than 44,300 Utah employees at 164 nominated companies and agencies. The firm received 28,744 back, a response rate of nearly 65%.
