Volunteer dentists, hygienists and the University of Utah School of Dentistry provided free dental care to 400 children Saturday.

The dental school is the new permanent home for Salt Lake City’s event — the largest “Give Kids A Smile” program in Utah. Approximately $200,000 in services were provided at the school’s sixth session since it opened in 2015. The children were screened and qualified prior to the event, the U. said, brought in by Salt Lake Valley organizations such as the Health Access Project and Intercity Mission.
