More snow is in the forecast for northern Utah beginning Saturday night, but 1-2 inches are expected in the valley.

Utahns will get a taste of spring on Thursday, Friday and Saturday — but March will come in like a lion, as winter returns on Saturday night and continues through Sunday and into Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, it will be sunny and unseasonably warm on Thursday (forecast high of 47) and Friday (52). It will be a bit warmer on Saturday (53), but skies will be mostly cloudy.

And those clouds will bring a storm to the western two-thirds of Utah on Saturday night. There’s a 50% chance of precipitation — rain and snow before 11 p.m., then just snow — with 1-2 inches possible in the valleys and more at higher elevations. According to the NWS, the “storm track is still uncertain,” but there’s potential for “significant” snow accumulation in the mountains.

The forecast high on Sunday and Monday is just 36, with overnight lows in the low- to mid-20s.

In St. George, temperatures in the mid-60s are expected Thursday, Friday and Saturday before falling to the mid-50s on Sunday and Monday. There’s a chance of rain before 8 p.m. on Sunday, which will turn to rain and snow between 8-11 p.m. and then just snow after 11 p.m. Sunday’s overnight low will be about 33.
