Utah woman says she ‘snapped’ and punched her daughter’s teacher

A Utah woman is facing a criminal charge after she reportedly punched her daughter’s teacher.

The 37-year-old Paragonah woman was meeting with the teacher at Parowan High School on Friday when she “punched him twice in the chest,” according to police. An officer was called to the school.

The woman “told me she ‘just snapped’ and was angry with the teacher because of how he was treating her daughter,” the officer wrote in a probable cause statement.

The teacher confirmed the woman punched him during the meeting, which took place during school hours.

The woman was charged on Monday in 5th District Court with assault against a school employee, a class A misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
