West Valley police are looking for witnesses in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man

West Valley City police are asking for the public's help after a man was found shot to death in a street on Wednesday.

According to police, they received reports of gunshots and a man with gunshot wounds near 6400 S. Wakefield Way at about 6 p.m. When they arrived, witnesses were performing CPR but the victim — Manuel Andres Martinez, 20 — died at the scene.

Witnesses also reported seeing Martinez exit a vehicle; he may have been dumped. The vehicle then left the area.

Police said that, as of Thursday morning, they have no suspects and are continuing to investigate. They asked that anyone with information call 801-840-4000, and said that witnesses can remain anonymous.
