Fog advisory lifted for northern Utah

(David Noyce | The Salt Lake Tribune) Fog blankets the area near Vivint Smart Home Arena in downtown Salt Lake City on Jan. 25, 2020.

It was clear to see — or not — that it was foggy outside for much of Saturday morning.

In fact, the National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for the Wasatch Front, stretching from the Cache Valley through the Salt Lake Valley and into the western Uinta Basin.

“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” the weather service advised.

The fog advisory was lifted at 11 a.m.

The Utah Division of Air Quality reported moderate PM 2.5 conditions in Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Cache counties Saturday morning.

The high temperature for Salt Lake City on Saturday was expected to reach 40 degrees with a low around 33 degrees.

A winter storm is forecast to reach northern Utah late Sunday, bringing a mix of rain and snow to the valleys. Another, colder storm is expected Tuesday night through Wednesday.
