The Salt Lake Tribune’s 2019 photos of the year

These photographs are by Tribune staff photographers Francisco Kjolseth, Leah Hogsten, Trent Nelson and Rick Egan.

The photo staff of The Salt Lake Tribune was privileged in 2019 to witness many of the most significant events affecting Utah. Highs and lows. Bitter and sweet. Salt Lake City fire officials told Gardner, his wife, Amber, left, and their three children this morning that they must vacate or be charged with a misdemeanor. Dozens of Salt Lake City residents living at the Georgia Apartments had 72 hours to evacuate their homes starting on Feb. 11, 2019, due to multiple violations that place tenants in extreme fire danger.
