6-year-old Utah County boy dies in fall from snow removal machine

A 6-year-old Utah boy has died after falling from a snow removal machine he was riding in with his father and brother.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said Friday in a news release that the boy fell out of the seating area when the machine bounced or lurched. He fell into the path of the machine called a skid steer and was hit in the head by the machine’s arm.

Authorities say the boy’s father gave him CPR until paramedics arrived and declared the boy dead.

The incident occurred Friday morning south of Salt Lake City at Aspen Grove Family Camp in Provo Canyon.

The boy’s name is being withheld until more family members are notified of his death.
