Remains of Army pilot killed in crash to be buried in Utah

The remains of an Army helicopter pilot killed in a crash while on a mission in Afghanistan are being brought back to Utah for burial.

Salt Lake City TV station KUTV reports Kirk Fuchigami Jr. will be buried at Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Camp Williams.

Department of Defense officials say the 25-year-old Fuchigami died Wednesday along with another pilot.

The crash occurred while Army crews were providing security for troops on the ground in eastern Logar Province outside of Kabul.

According to KUTV, Fuchighami was originally from Keaau, Hawaii. He married Corinne, Utah, native McKenzie Norman in March.
