Warmer weather in Utah for Halloween, trick-or-treaters will still be cold

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Budweiser’s iconic Clydesdales make a special trip to Utah to celebrate the changing beer laws in the state, joined by a “ghoulish group of pallbearers,” on Wed. Oct. 30, 2019, for a funeral procession for Utah’s last remaining 3.2 percent beer, on their way to Bar X, Beer Bar and Johnny’s on 200 South in Salt Lake City, as the state prepares to start selling 5 percent alcohol-by-volume in grocery and convenience stores starting Friday.

The last day in October will see Utah return to the 40s, though anyone going door-to-door asking for candy Thursday night will need a warm costume.

After days of freezing temperatures, Salt Lake City will rise to the low 40s, according to the National Weather Service. The freeze will return after sundown, with temperatures dipping into the lower 20s. It will still be cold in Logan with the upper 30s during the day and teens at night.

Even St. George will see temperatures near freezing Thursday night. St. George will be in the lower 60s during the day.

The state will warm a few degrees with each of the next few succeeding days. Salt Lake City is expected to reach the upper 50s by Monday.
