A former Uintah High School teacher has been arrested for a sexual relationship he allegedly had with a student three years ago. And police believe there may be other possible victims.

Rodd Adam Repsher, 33, was arrested after the former student and a witness provided new information to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office. Repsher has been charged with two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a 16- or 17-year-old — third-degree felonies. The incidents allegedly took place in November 2015.

According to a probable cause statement, a fellow teacher walked into Repsher’s classroom on Oct. 11, 2016, and found the 16-year-old student “sitting on a counter with her legs spread apart and [Repsher} pressed up against her.” The second teacher told police Repsher said he had kissed the girl and had “true feelings for the victim and they were going to go away together after she graduates.”

Repsher was placed on administrative leave by the Uintah School District that day and later fired; he never returned to the classroom. The Uintah County Sheriff's Office investigated, but no charges were filed.

On July 16, the detective who investigated the case in 2016 was approached by a witness who said she saw the then-student and Repsher kissing at his home three years ago; that the two were “having a relationship”; and that Repsher had “planned on leaving his current girlfriend” for his 16-year-old student.

The detective contacted the former student, who now lives in another state, and she agreed to be interviewed. In September, she “disclosed having multiple sexual encounters with Rodd Repsher,” beginning during her sophomore years at Uintah High while he was a teacher there. She said the sexual contact took place at Uintah High, at Repsher’s home and at a local business where Repsher also worked.

Repsher was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Uintah County jail for investigation of six counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old.

Police are continuing to investigate because the original report in 2016 involved allegations that there were multiple possible victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 435-789-2511.
