Weather: Fall temperatures and rain predicted for Utah

(The Salt Lake Tribune) Downtown Salt Lake City on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures will be in the 70s in the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys this week.

Autumn arrived Monday, and the weather forecast seemed to notice.

The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures will remain in the 70s during the work week for the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys. Nightly lows will dip into the 50s.

The days will remain sunny through Thursday. There is a chance of rain that night and Friday and the weekend, the Weather Service says. By Saturday, the high temperature is likely to be in the lower 60s.

In St. George, there’s a 20 percent chance of rain on Monday. Then the skies stay clear until Thursday night. Then St. George spends Friday and the weekend with the same chance of rain as the Wasatch Front has.

The high temperature in St. George on Monday is predicted to be 86 degrees. It’s supposed to be 91 on Tuesday, and then St. George gradually cools until the high temperature dips to 76 on Sunday.
