Man found shot to death in the middle of a street in Springville

Springville police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in the middle of a city street early Sunday.

The 29-year-old man, Lazaro A. Nieves, was found on 1600 South near State Street about 2 a.m. when police responded to reports of shots fired in the area. A suspect was arrested Monday night and booked into jail, though he has not been charged yet.

Police have not said how many times the Nieves was shot and released few details about the death.

The department tweeted Monday evening: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time. We will have more information about the case tomorrow.”
