Teenager dies at Strawberry Reservoir

A 15-year-old boy died Saturday afternoon at Strawberry Reservoir, and officials believe he likely drowned, FOX 13 reports.

Wasatch County Sheriff Jared Rigby told FOX 13 that divers found the teenager’s body in 15 feet of water. He theorized the boy had been underwater for about an hour. Officials first learned of the possible drowning around 3:30 p.m.

Rigby did not release the boy’s name.

Rigby told FOX 13 that after three recent deaths at the reservoir — two brothers were found dead after “some kind of accident” occurred during a fishing trip in July — those visiting the lake should wear life jackets when recreating on the water.
