A woman was found shot just west of downtown Salt Lake City on Thursday and later died.
Salt Lake City officers began investigating around 5 p.m. after receiving a report that a woman was bleeding from her head. Police responded to 800 West and North Temple and discovered Alicia Baxter, 33, with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Officers said investigators believe the shooting was an “isolated incident," according to a tweet from the department Thursday evening.
Police continued to search for two men believed to have witnessed the shooting as well as the shooter.
