Man dies in ‘apparent drowning’ at Lake Powell

The body of an Arizona man was found in Lake Powell after what investigators are calling an "apparent drowning."

Albert Shortman, 33, from Cow Springs, Ariz., was reported missing at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, about an hour and a half after he last had been seen. Searchers found his body near the Wahweap Swim Beach, close to Page, Ariz., according to a news statement Monday from Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

The National Park Service and sheriff’s officials from Coconino County, Ariz., are investigating Shortman’s death.
