Wildfire in Paragonah destroys vacation home, threatened 30 others

Paragonah • Authorities say a wildfire in southwestern Utah destroyed a vacation home and six outbuildings and threatened an additional 30 homes before being contained.

The state Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands said the fire in Paragonah in Iron County burned 15 acres before being contained Monday and was started by equipment that caught fire while being operated in dry grass.

No injuries were reported.

Paragonah is 204 miles south of Salt Lake City.
