‘Haunted house’ in Provo Canyon burns down

An abandoned house near South Fork Road in Provo Canyon burned down overnight Saturday, FOX 13 reports. The house was sometimes called “The South Fork Haunted House,” according to Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff’s Department.

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire at the house on Shady Side Drive just after 8 a.m. Sunday. When North Fork Fire Department and Utah County Fire Marshall’s Office personnel arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames, wrote Cannon in a press release.

Police have responded to reports of trespassers at the house over the years, Cannon said, but the cause of the fire is unknown. Police say the investigation could take several days.
