Idaho teen found unharmed; alleged kidnapper is in custody

A 17-year-old girl who was reportedly abducted Sunday night in Idaho has been found safe in Arizona, and the man who allegedly kidnapped her is in custody.

Police in Jerome, Idaho, issued an Amber Alert on Monday afternoon for Sandra Rios-Chavez after she “may have been forcibly kidnapped" from the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant by Miguel Rodriguez-Perez, 18, on Sunday at about 6 p.m.

According to a Facebook post by police in Surprise, Ariz., Rice-Chavez has been located is “waiting to be reunited with her family.”

Earlier, Surprise Police located Rodriguez’s car and attempted to pull it over. The vehicle fled, and was located a short time later, abandoned. Police have not yet released information on how or where Rios-Chavez and Rodriguez were found.
