The Jordan School District has begun a search for a new superintendent.
Patrice Johnson, who has led the state’s fourth-largest district since 2011, announced her retirement, effective July 1. She is the first woman to lead the Jordan District.
A “nationwide search” for her replacement is underway, according to the district. The deadline for applications is April 8, and a new superintendent is scheduled to be appointed on May 28.
The Jordan School District — which has about 55,000 students in 57 schools — encompasses Bluffdale, Copperton, Herriman, Riverton, South Jordan, West Jordan and parts of unincorporated Salt Lake County.
