Salt Lake City’s Airport Police Department is no more; officers will become part of Salt Lake City’s force

The Salt Lake City International Airport no longer has its own police force.

The Airport Police patch and badge were formally retired Tuesday, in a ceremony presided over by Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski. Officers received their new badges that signify they are part of the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Salt Lake City Airport Police had been established in 1984.
